Foundation Study Program

Foundation Study Program

Please note our Foundation Program is currently being live streamed.

Joining Foundation Program (FP) involves studying the entire section of a book and trying to attend all classes, one of which is an end-of-term exam. Foundation Program (FP) classes offer systematic study, discussion and meditation practice. These are based on six of Geshe Kelsang’s extraordinary books in order to: Develop our wisdom, cultivate a good heart, maintain a peaceful state of mind, solve all our problems and transform our lives.

Foundation Study Program (Dandenong Ranges Temple) taught by Resident Teacher Gen Dornying | Sunday's 2-6pm

Meaningful to behold is a commentary to the exquisite and universally loved poem Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life by the 8th century master Shantideva. A Bodhisattva is a being bound for spiritual enlightenment and is regarded as a friend of the world. With unsurpassed clarity, the author Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, explains how to transform contemporary life into the Bodhisattva’s path.

By joining the foundation study program now you will:

·       Improve your life through cultivating authentic love and compassion.

·       Learn how to genuinely benefit others.

·       Transform your life into the highway to enlightenment.

From the book:

“Nowadays, with the world in turmoil, there is a particular need for Westerners to cultivate bodhichitta. If we are to make it through these perilous times, true Bodhisattvas must appear in the West as well as in the East.”

Joining the program involves studying the entire book and attending all classes, one of which is an end-of-term exam. Each class consists of prayers, guided meditation and teaching.

For now this program will streamed live, but when the face-to-face classes restart there will also be group discussions.

Foundation Study Program (Darwin) taught by Resident Teacher Gen Dornying | Wednesday's 6.30-pm NT time

The perfection of wisdom is the realization of the true nature of reality motivated by compassion. All our suffering and problems come from our ignorance – not knowing the true nature of things. Therefore, if we train in the perfection of wisdom, we will solve these problems, enjoy deep peace of mind and bring happiness to those we love.

The New Heart of Wisdom by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso explains how to do this training by revealing the profound meaning of the Heart Sutra – the very heart of Buddha’s teachings.

Join our committed study program and be guided through this incredible explanation of the Heart Sutra by Gen Kelsang Dornying, Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Australia.
